You’ve seen my photo history. Living proof. And I did it while eating only foods that I like. And without the struggle.  But it wasn’t always so.

My Story

You see, I have what I call a “long and colorful” diet and exercise history.

To be more exact, 30 years of constantly battling weight, being at war with food and my body, and not having the lasting success OR real results that I craved, no matter what I did.

I couldn’t seem to realize the dream I was looking for: lasting weight loss, high energy, great shape..and good eating. Without being a slave to diet and exercise. I craved a simple solution that eluded me for decades. I even got my M.A. in Physical Education along the way. Yet lasting time in the weight loss winner’s circle still eluded me!

Defining Moment

The turning point came for me over 10 years ago when I became, ultimately, exhausted and discouraged from the constant battle. I was working full time during the day, teaching fitness at night, and squeezing my own workouts in between while meticulously trying to manage my diet, with intermittent and hard won results.

It all came to a head one day that I clearly remember. It was the culmination of a growing feeling that finally peaked.

Picture this. I walked in the door after a long day at work, weary and sweaty from yet another 1 1/2 hour workout at the gym. My gym back was digging into one shoulder while my case of papers from work carved into the other. I was tired and hungry, and just wanted to lay down, eat, and sleep!

Here’s the thing. What watered that “growing feeling” was the fact that as hard as I was working and as carefully as I was managing my diet, I was getting diminishing returns. I was, essentially, eating less, exercising more, and slowly gaining anyway. Talk about not fair! None of it was giving me what I really wanted anyway, which was the pleasure of fitness with freedom to eat and get on with my life, too!

Pursuit of The Dream

It was at this point that I decided there must be a way to have my fitness dream: to be slim and energetic, enjoy what I ate, exercise a little, and live the life that I love. I believed completely in this possibility.

My vision as my guide, I stepped forward with the belief that I would find the solutions that would deliver.

And that is exactly what happened! I now enjoy astonishing, successful results, including eating freedom and an activity approach that demands very little “workout” time and yet gives me oodles of energy to be as enjoyably active as I like.

Is it any wonder I am thrilled to work with other women in realizing their own fitness dreams?
