I wish you could have seen Brandi’s face when she stood up in fromt of the crowd of hundreds, cradled the microphone, and sang her heart out with a gentle, lilting voice that brought tears to everyone’s eyes.
You see, Brandi had walked in the door of the CHIP program 7 weeks earlier at 350 lbs.
And it had been 4 years since she had had the courage to step in front of ANYone and sing.
And now here she is, noticeably a big chunk of pounds lighter. And that’s just on her body. Her lightness of spirit, joy, and hope is what brought on the waterworks in the CHIP crowd.
Let me explain.
It’s been my distinct honor and privilege to present as the Plant-Strong Fitness Expert this spring for the 7 week CHIP program.
CHIP stands for Complete Health Improvement Project, the brainchild of Dr. Hans Diehl. With chapters all over the world, CHIP is a 7 – week program that educates participants through lifestyle changes in diet, exercise, and attitude about it all.
This lifestyle enrichment program is designed to reduce disease risk factors through the adoption of better health habits and appropriate lifestyle modifications. The goal is to lower blood cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood sugar levels by reducing excess weight, lowering high blood pressure, enhancing daily exercise, improving dietary choices, and eliminating smoking, thus aiding in preventing and reversing disease.
Everyone goes through a health screening at the beginning of the course, and participants eat the Optimal Diet, a whole-foods, plant-based, low fat diet. Weekly exercise is recorded and upon completion of the program, another health screening takes place.
The CHIP group that I worked with this spring delivered phenomenal changes in health profiles and participants received their final results on the festive graduation night. Roaring success ran rampant! Brandi was only one of dozens with major improvements in weight, lipid profile, energy, and health to report on graduation night.
CHIP programs are run all around the country and outside the US as well. To find out about a chapter near you, go to the CHIP site HERE.
And Brandi, congratulations once again!
